Suite101 at the Google Partner Summit - Brad goes to New York

So it’s my first Suite101 blog entry…not so scary…

For those who haven’t seen my recently updated bio on the Suite101 ‘Meet the team’ page: Hi - I’m Brad, the Suite101 sales and marketing guy.  I’m the one responsible for squeezing the most revenue from each Suite101 pageview, while still trying to preserve a pleasant reader experience…at least, as far as advertising is concerned.

One of the more exciting, and more tiring, aspects of my job, is setting out on red-eye flights and meeting up with networks and partners that provide the ads that keep our site running, development happening, and contributors paid.  Next week, I’ll be in New York City for the Google Partner Summit.  Here I, and about 150 other web publishers, will learn about the newest ad products and monetization opportunities that the good folks at Google are launching this year.

Given the audience, I’m pretty sure that our friend Matt Cutts won’t be presenting, though the Google-ers (or is it ‘ites’?) that are actually working to help Suite101 (their bonuses are bigger the more $$$ we can generate) will be.  Should be pretty interesting – and I do love New York, even if it’s only for one night.

I’ll be blogging about some of the new developments announced at the summit when I get back next Friday.  I’m also attempting to figure out how to Twitter during the trip – so follow me at @bzaytsoff…I think…

Thanks for the update and have a safe trip.

It’s comforting to know some of the lengths the suite staff is going through to generate revenue for all its stakeholders. It is appreciated.

"Some lengths?" Piffle. It's NYC we're talking about here; paradise on earth. Good food, beautiful weather (oddly beautiful for February), happy & friendly natives (I'm one Dude).

No argument here - I do love New York.  It's an incredible city - just wish I was able to stay longer than 40 hours...  I will be back!

Dear Bradz,

I'm grateful for this. In the end we do Google a service. WE can hold our heads high!

Hi Brad. I'm intrigued to read your comments after the trip. And, if I can figure out how to tweet, twit, Twitter, whatever <eye roll> myself, I'll follow...

Hey... Brad-Zee (now that's a bloke with a cool name) is back!
Walked in from schmoozing with the guys from Google in NY this morning.

I think he needs a prod and a push to update us all.

Just digging myself out from emails and other items missed while away.  The update can be expected soon!
