This is definitely the season to find great books to fit most readers during the holiday gift-giving season.  Anything by Michael Koryta and Deborah Lawrenson's The Lantern should not be missed and readers looking for lighter angelic fare with humor should give Carolyn Hart's series a try.  I'll add an article featuring more great picks next week.

In the Mysteries/Crime Fiction department of Suite101.com, we've had several enjoyable reviews recently including some which highlight books found primarily online rather than the traditional format.  The publishing world has seen major changes over the last few years and it's interesting to see how some of the authors have adapted.

While technology is emphasized for some, Mulholland Classics has returned to the past to reissue striking material to new audiences.  Matthew Jones' A Single Shot reminds us just how much has changed since its original 1996 publishing date even while the story remains raw, especially for audiences familiar with rural areas.

Happy (American) Thanksgiving!
